BrainTrust Canada Association (“BrainTrust”) is pleased to announce that after an exhaustive national search, it has appointed Amanda MacFarlane as the Executive Director of the organization.

Since taking on the leadership of BrainTrust on an interim basis in December 2021, Ms. McFarlane has launched numerous initiatives designed to improve the sustainability of community programs, expand service delivery to clients, and ensure ongoing collaboration among employees and stakeholders.

Having worked with the BrainTrust since 2012 — most recently in the role of Senior Manager of Programs — Ms. McFarlane is a well-known presence in the community, having developed meaningful relationships with colleagues, clients, partners, volunteers, and donors.

“On behalf of the BrainTrust Board of Directors, I am very happy to welcome Amanda into this role on a permanent basis,” says Daniel Shea, Board President. “Her leadership over the last four months has energized the BrainTrust team and the community that it serves, while also demonstrating a deep commitment to our values of service, professionalism, collaboration, innovation, stewardship and resilience.”

Among the initiatives that Ms. McFarlane has introduced is a new format for the Pushor Mitchell LLP West Coast Brain Injury Conference (formerly BRAINx). This year, the conference will be held in-person on June 23 at the UBC Okanagan campus as well as virtually. An exciting line-up of speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors have been secured to participate.
