We are eager to announce that on Thursday June 23rd, 2022, the Pushor Mitchell LLP West Coast Brain Injury Conference will be held at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus in beautiful Kelowna, BC. We respectfully acknowledge the Syilx Okanagan Nation and their peoples, in whose traditional, ancestral, unceded territory UBC Okanagan is situated.

Sponsored by Pushor Mitchell LLP and UBCO’s Faculty of Health and Social Development, this conference brings together leading minds in the field of brain injury research for a full day of learning and discourse. A variety of expert speakers will dive into the present-day concerns around brain injury awareness and practice, while a special workshop hosted by keynote speaker Dr. Kim Gorgens will focus on brain injury screening, self-report, and cognitive complaints within the criminal justice system.

Through education, innovation, and collaboration, we will learn to shift from a “one practice fits all” mandate towards targeting the root of chronic social and systemic issues by integrating therapeutic interventions as well as indigenous perspectives. Please join us, either virtually or in-person, as we rewrite the narrative on brain injury and work together to promote trauma-informed, client-centred practices.

Tickets for the event can be purchased here.
