City of Kelowna – Downtown Bike Valet

Join us at the Bike Valet!

BrainTrust Canada is thrilled to announce our partnership with the City of Kelowna this summer for their Bike Valet! We will incorporate our Helmet Safety Program by providing prevention and education measures for our community members and visitors.

What is the Bike Valet program?

The Bike Valet program offers a more secure environment for those who bike and scoot, including the Loan-a-Lock program, and the new bikeep smart racks found around Kelowna. The program aims to be “an effective response to residents’ bike safety concerns while also offering a convenient amenity in our downtown that encourages sustainable and active transportation,” says Mayor Tom Dyas.

How it Works:

  1. Drop-off: Ride your bike to the designated Bike Valet area at Bernard Avenue and Mill Street.
  2. Check-in: A staff will assist you in securely parking your bike.
  3. Enjoy: Explore the downtown area, attend events, shop, or dine knowing your bike is safe.
  4. Pick-up: When you’re ready to leave, staff will retrieve your bike.

Helmet Safety Program

This program aims to reduce the risk of brain injuries by providing free helmets to individuals and families who may not be able to afford them. We will educate the community about the importance of wearing helmets and practicing safe biking habits. Here’s how we are integrating helmet safety into the valet service:

  • Helmet Fitting and Education: Our team is trained to ensure proper helmet fit and offer valuable safety tips to riders of all ages.
  • Promoting Safe Riding: We promote safe riding practices and advocate for helmet use as an essential part of riding safety.
  • Provide Helmets: We will provide helmets to those that are riding without a helmet, using a damaged helmet, or unable to afford for a helmet.

Benefits of the Bike Valet Program

  • Security: Rest assured knowing your bike is monitored and protected.
  • Convenience: Skip the hassle of searching for a parking spot during the busy season of downtown.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Reduce your carbon footprint by choosing sustainable transportation.
  • Safety: Reducing the risk of brain injuries by providing proper means to remain safe.
