Making Spirits Bright
Help Someone with Brain Injury Have a Truly Special Christmas
Brain injury happens unexpectedly when someone has a fall, a motor vehicle incident, a sport-related injury, or a medical event like a stroke - and everything changes.
After brain injury people move, think, feel, communicate, and remember differently. Often unable to continue working, they lose jobs, homes, and their sense of self-esteem.
Not everyone can handle the changes and over time, family break-up and loss of social relationships may follow.
One of the most devastating outcomes of a brain injury is deep and lasting loneliness.
Many people in the Central Okanagan living with brain injury will have no plan for Christmas this year. With your help, we want to make spirits a little brighter by giving 150 people with brain injury a special Christmas gift.
Each Christmas gift bag will include:
~ a $25 grocery store gift card
~ essentials like toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.
~ a warm toque
~ a personal gift card (e.g. movie pass)
~ a 2019 calendar to help remember appointments and events
~ a surprise from Santa's elves
